How easy does the digital tip jar work?
Super easy! It works in three steps:
Step 1
Customers scan the Danki QR code and pay via their own banking app. The tips received
are collected in the Danki digital tip jar.
Step 2
The tip boss distributes the proceeds of the tip jar among the employees. Through
give everyone an equal amount or divide by hours worked.
Step 3
Your co-workers and you receive the tip through each person’s own bank account! Simple and good!
How do you divide the tip?
- To distribute the tip, log into your My Danki account on a computer.
- Invite your colleagues! Click on “Colleagues” and add the colleague(s) by typing in the email addresses. You can always add more colleagues at a later time.
- Distribute that earned tip regularly, everyone deserves a compliment! Go to “Tip jar” and click on “New payout.” Go to “Tip jar” and click on “New payout.” Choose to divide the amount proportionally among employees or based on hours worked. As it is agreed with you in the company.
- Then click “Confirm,” check that everything is correct and click confirm again. Ready! Funds are now transferred to your colleagues’ personal Danki accounts. They will receive the tip in their own bank account within 7 business days.
- You can check your payouts, click on tip jar and see all your payouts up to that point.

Frequently asked questions and answers – tip jar
How can I put the cash tip we receive or the tip that is added by pin to the tip jar?
You can transfer the amounts using the QR code. Have the person who has the money or access to the bank account where the tip is
on is to scan the QR code and transfer the amount manager but also someone on the team who is good with numbers.
Can I see how much tip we collected?
You can see this online with the selected period, the team cannot see this. So it might be fun to share the amount with the team on a regular basis.
What payment methods can the customer use to pay?
Currently, one can pay by Ideal, Bancontact & credit card. Many payment methods will soon be added.
Do I also get cash tips?
Often yes, Danki makes sure you can receive tips if one does not have cash with them. In practice, the Danki QR code also proves to be a trigger for those with cash to tip. By arrangement, cash tips received will be deposited in the Danki tip jar or distributed separately.
Do I have to report the income on my tax return?
Yes, unfortunately so But think of it like this; better to receive tips in an official way, than to receive no tip. Check the tax authority website for more information.
What is the benefit of a digital tip jar?
The digital tip jar allows you to receive tips when someone doesn’t have cash on them, its easier to distribute tips fairly, keeps tips out of the ocompany administration, it’s
always transparant and you get the recognition you deserve.
Where can I see how much I have already received?
Log in on https://app.danki.me and check your account to see your earnings.
I work for two establishments, can I receive tips from both tip jars? And being a tip boss of both?
Yes, you certainly can!
Receiving can be done by being invited by multiple tip bosses.
In your account, you can switch between organizations and/or branches to make multiple teams happy with tips. Danki should be added once to a branch or organization’s tip jar. Please contact Danki for this.
What happens to the money if it cannot be distributed to the colleague?
This money will remain for your colleague until the person has linked his/her bank account number. But not forever…..after 2 months, the balance will be returned to the tip jar. Then we will assume that your colleague did not want to receive it.
How long will it take for the tip to reach my account?
After the tip boss distributes the tip in his digital portal, it takes a max of 7 business days for the money to appear in your account.
